Right Front wheel bearing was replaced with new ball joints. When I put everything back togther I noticed that the same wheel still has a little wobble in it. That's not normal right? What could be the issue? Maybe the axle? Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated BTW, I have an 02' Rubicon 500

It is like a wheel bearing wobble. I did the work myself putting everything after i had the bearings and ball joints installed. Is it possible that i just don't have the axle nut cranked tight enough?

i noticed it when i put the wheel back on, The wheel moves back and forth, like when you have a bad bearing.

I found the torque specs online today so I will, thanks for the reminder.

All set, I torqued everything down but the right front hub assembly still move a little. I think that front knuckle might be no good but I am not going to beat on it so it will be fine.

Yeah. If the wheel is moving relative to the knuckle, it could be the wheel bearing even if it was recently replaced, or there have been cases where the splines in the hub get worn and corroded.

Thankfully I am only using it to plow my driveway and maybe some snow riding but nothing too serious.

I have the two front knuckle of my 01 rubicon it pulled off and installed replacement disc brakes from an 05 rubicon.

Are they in good shape? What do you want for them?

I went thru this; replaced the ball joints tie rod ends and a arm bushing, the wheel bearings, it was the whole knuckle that stopped it
I bought both on ebay for $198 if your running heavy tires I can almost guarentee they need to be replaced or will soon need to be
I bought my bike with both wheels wobbly, that was 3 weeks ago, I was on it today riding it hard, new knuckles were the solution, hope that helps if you go that route and need help on the install reply here I got you.

Thanks Bdigital.Fortunately I won't be doing any rough riding YET, just plowing snow and getting used to it. It seems from other posts that the knuckles are the answer. It is 20 years old.
