questions about 2inch lift kit for foreman

4565 Views 14 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  SLIDELLFOREMAN
i'm wanting a little more gc out of my foreman. I would like a lift kit, I have already purchased the high lifter lift springs for my foreman so that I could easily fit my tires and wheels. But as most men want i want more. So a 2 inch lift is it a good investment. will i be tearing up bearings and axels and what not before i know it. is this a good idea???? any help is welcome or suggestions thanks

with 26inch mudlites you should be alright for the most part...but in certain situations you might break something....i wouldnt think you would with 26mudlites though.

foreman450rider rides his bike hard with lift and springs+28 outlaws...but maybe the 500 is different on axles...you should be ok though
the main problem with the 500 is the rear ujoint, and thusly, i recommend only the front lift, due to the fact that you will only gain ground clearance from the tires in the rear. i only run the front now because i was getting strange noises from the back end. just my .02$
Hey flip, read my post "Rear U joint fix!!". I say lift away, it'll only give you about an inch really, but every little bit helps!
THE MORE THE LIFT THE MORE THEY LIKE IT. GO AHEAD AND JACK IT UP. LIKE THEY SAID IT'S ONLY A LITTLE MORE THAN AN INCH, BUT EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS...
S LET ME ASK THIS, DOES THE HIGH LIFTER SPRINGS LIFT THE BIKE AT ALL? I ALREADY HAVE A 2'' LIFT KIT ON. WOULD IT BE WORHT IT TO GET HIGH LIFTER SPRINGS? WOULD I GAIN ANY GROUND CLEARANCE?
LAST QUESTION, DOES THE KIT CONTAIN 4 NEW SPRINGS AND SHOCKS?

MIKE
THE SPRINGS GAIN ABOUT AN 1" OF CLEARANCE ON THE BODY OF THE BIKE, NOT AT THE AXLE. THE SPRINGS ARE $62 A PAIR. YOU NEED A PAIR FOR THE FRONT AND A PAIR FOR THE BACK.
it depends on how much the bike has been used on how much lift springs will help....on a bike off of the showroom floor they will not lift it very much as opposed to a bike that has 2,000 miles on it. if the bike has over 600 miles on it or if you haul a lot of weight on it then it will help quite considerably...but then again every bike is different...just my $0.02

do you need to remove the springs from the oem shocks or does it come as a unit?
you have to remove the springs from the oem shock
easy? hard? havent reall looked into it ! i really need another 1'' on the body. ever since i put 1'' wheel spacers on all 4 coners she rubs a little wheel i turn real hard
its easy with the spring tool. but with out it you can do it triples the time and its a pain in the butt.
are the springs just longer and stiffer, and just keep the shock extended more to give you the lift?
i saw all 4 springs on ebay for like $80.00
