bike ran like a champ before i installed in. followed instructions fron rincon650 and everything went together just fine. the bike starts, i cover the snorkel and the bike dies. i go to drive it and at part throttle or wide open she runs like ****. spits and sputters. i pull the choke and it made no difference at all. it seems its worse at part throttle. before the install i had a jet kit put in and the settings were-- 165 jet, and the needle set on the 3rd clip, and 2 1/2 turns out.

please help, i'm trying to go out this weekend

so make it leaner? i dont have my stock needle and dont know which notch would be the stock location. this is my 1st bike so i'm sorry for the stupid questions.
some people say to put in the larger jet to make it richer, because your letting in more air. well i already have a k&n filter and by installing the snorkel i would think it would be harder for the carb to pull in air, so that would make me think a smaller jet. because the carb has to pull air all the way front the front of the bike instead of the short little runner the bike comes with stock.
i had honda install the ket kit and the never gave me back the rest of the kit, so dont have anything that the bike came with stock.

what size snorkel? you need to be mostly 2" or aleast mostly all the way. Also check the air valve. It is a valve that is on the side of the carb and has a screw holding it in place by a fraction of the head of the screw. there is a spring that goes in side it and if the air check valve has been bumped or falls off and the spring is not in there you will have very similiar problems this happened to me.
its 2'' all the way. i have no idea what your talking about with the other stuff. i looked over everything before i button it all up and everything looks just like the way i found it

went even smaller to a 155 jet and she runs like a raped ape. no popping, no sputtering, and now i can do a wheelie.
installed and new plug and made about 3 hard passes down the road, took out the plug and it looked great, no white or greyish at all. i installed a 170 jet and the bike would run so bad it would go over 20mph. put in a 160 and it got 80% better, put in a 155 and wham.. perfect

its fixed and all is well. went out today and it runs perfect. that little trick about plugging the drain tube on the carb is a great thing to do. after i installed the snorkel yesterday and was able to go into 4'-5' deep hole today, water wheelie across a creek and the bike didnt even flinch at it. all day long i kept checking the little tube at the bottom of the air box and i never got water in it all day long. once i found out she knows how to swim... i was in the deep end all day.

thanks to all that helped me figure all my little problems out, i'm able to realy enjoy my bike now. rincon 650
