How many do you have?

I have almost 20 plugs in just over 200 miles of riding.

They will be going in the trash next week when my Bear Claws arrive.
10 miles per plug?

How do you do that?

How many miles per plug did you get when the tires were new?

The interesting thing is that my stock bias - ply Rancher tires have 200 miles on them without a problem. I put them on the wife's Recon, and I put a brand spankin' new take - off set from a '07 Rincon 680 on my 350 Rancher. I've had nothing but problems with the tires since I put them on.

I've been riding ATVs for a while now, and have never seen such a thing before. I've seen guys wear a stock set of bias - ply tires so smooth that there isn't any tread left whatsoever without a single plug.

I don't get it.

Maybe gremlins are breaking into my garage at night with an icepick.
Not fun... must be that particular set of tires. For what its worth, I have 175 on a new set... no plugs. Could they have been exposed to the sun? What kind of holes are you getting.. what's punching through?

Well, I don't think so. They didn't have a single mile on them when I bought them. They were taken off a new unit at the dealer. I got the aluminum rims and OEM tires.

Small pinhole punctures, scrapes, cuts. I was running them at 3psi when I got the majority of the punctures.

I don't know what's doing it.

I know I'm almost finshed worrying about it, though!!
For what its worth, I run at 7 front, 5 rear. Lower than that, I don't like the handling. Can't say that bears any relation to your experience... but I think the recommended pressure is too low. At 3lbs you are on the low side of even Honda's recommendation, as you probably well know. I suppose running in mud may benefit from the lower pressures, but not for me.
