I have a 2020 Rubicon 520. Does anyone know what the small plastic piece on the collar around the gas cap is for? It is a small piece of plastic on the outside collar. The schematic says it is a vent cover of some sort. At first look it looks like it can be pulled off but it’s screwed down from underneath. I took it off but there is no tube or vent. Looks like there should be a tube there.

2020 and 2021 models sold in the state of California are required to have an onboard EVAP system to meet emissions standards for that particular state. The hose that runs to the EVAP canister from the fuel tank is located where are looking, but only California specific models have it.

What if i broke mine off lol i thought it could just pop off but its attached to it and just broke off. I was pissed. I didnt know what it was. Does it really need to be there ?
