Thanks. For those wondering, my bike broke yet another gear today. When in 1st gear if I give it any kind of load, it pops, sounds like its right next to my left foot. I drove the rest of the day in 2nd gear and it was fine. Anyone have any clue what it might be? Is this as simple as jus needing a new first gear??? Last time this happend the dealership fixed it under warranty, no more warranty now, so im on my own.

Dang Robb. Sounds like you've had more trouble out of this one than it's
worth. Good luck with a fix.

He has done it twice. Once w/ the clutch kit (this time) and once prior when he was running the Claws and no clutch kit.

I want your dang Grizz. I hate belts as well but if done right (like Ray did) you will never have a problem out of it. But I could only imagine how much damage I would do if I had another 230 cc's ???

I think that you just have bad luck. I wonder if something was put back together wrong. I am much harder on mine and have half the problems.

it could possibly be the dog clutches snapping of the side of the gears.it has happened on other bikes in the past (1st year raptor).if that is the case and i'm sure you are not the only guy with the problem Honda hopefully will make good for a cure.if not I would ask for the old part back then see if the gear itself has the same Pn. as any previous year honda or if it matches up then see if you can use that part.even though you would prolly not want to do this unless you are dead set on owning that honda instead of a belt drive.if it was me i'd find a cure before i rode on a rubber band from another brand.(hey look i rhyme.....lol) I kill myself.crappy situation but just trying to give some calming input here.

Well I got the news. Looks like it needs another 3 gears and some shift forks. The actual teeth arent breaking but where the gears lock in on the the faces.
There really isnt a cure for this to stop from happening again, unless I baby it even more that I do, and run some stock tires. I think the only alternative is something other then a Honda
