from what i understand is that the preflex repostions your shock straight up and down to give it a smoother ride and in the process of relocating you shock mount it just happens to lift your bike about a inche and to answer which is better it depends on what you want the preflex will give you a better ride but not as much of a lift as a HL lift kit would but with the HL lift kit it gives you a rougher ride so basiclly
Preflex - one inche lift - softer ride
HL lift - two inches - rougher ride
thanks that helps alot
I've got the perfex, it's great, the best money spent on the quad yet. Should of done it first. Rides better and steers lighter.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man i have got to get me one of those Perfex kits, i have heard nothing but good things about them! Does anyone have one on a Rancher? Might have to get one for the wife.
Does anyone know the exact amount of lift it gives.
About an inch and a half, maybe a little more if you use the HL lift springs.
so your sayin it would be better to get the perfex rather then a lift?
it rides better and still provides a lift and its cheaper.. sounds pretty good to me.

I have the perfex on my quad and the only trouble I had was that it rubs on the front with my 27" tires. It rubs when the front shocks are fully compressed. It is well worth the investment however. I was told by the honda dealer that there is no way that a kit can soften the ride. I spent the $'s anyway and they don't know what they are talking about. The difference is very noticeable. Buy the perfex first.
i think HL lift kit is about $110ish?? i got the Perfex shipped to my door for $89.89. And it rides WAY better than my brothers HL lifted Foreman 500.. and with 30lbs of air in my MST's its so easy to steer it aint funny!! but when i get home im goin to air them down to about 2-3psi.. i left them that high so the bead would seat and i wasnt goin to be home to let the air out.... So let us know what you get...

do your MSTs ride smooth and pull good or do they beat you to death?
Im thinking about going with the long travel kit also. Maybe add some HL lift springs after!
No the MST's ride smoother than the stockers.
can i fit 27" swampwitches on an '01 foreman with just a perfex kit?

Yes. You should be able to fit 27's on there without a lift at all.
