I did mine at 5 hours 20 hours 100 hours 200 hours now I will do it every 100 hours or spring and fall don't know if it is to often but I would rather have clean fresh oil in it. Plus it lets me get out any water in the engine or differentials.
I like to use the honda oil. I see you live in Morganza so for this part of the country the 10 W 40 is good. I change my oil and filter once in the spring and once in the fall, and check it before every ride.
The cost is around $20. You get excellent protection and dont have to worry about hurting your clutch like you would with oil formulated with additives for automobile engines. Except in area's where the honda oil isn't readily available I cant see why any one would use any thing else. Surely not to save $2 or $3 dollars on an oil change and risk damaging the clutch or the engine.
This schedule is often hour and mileage wise than the factory reccomendations, but it wont hurt your engine to change the oil too often.
I change my front and rear end oil every 2 years, and check it every 2 or 3 months or if I have been is some deep water.
