The thermosensor is a 2 position switch 1st turns the fan on at approx. 150 c (302 f) ..2nd turns the oil light on at approx. 170 c (338 f) ...
Oil Temp
I was thinking of putting oil temp gauge on my Foreman. Does anyone know what the temp should be? I might put EGT gauge also.

Honda Mechanic...I know that you are probably the most educated and knowledgable in these fields and trust me.. I am in no way questioning you in any way...But I did not know that these bikes got this hot... Is that normal?? I thought these bikes would melt at that temp.
Maybe I am just totally blown away at that temp.. That scares me..
Now I am going to put an oil temp and water temp guage on.. There does not seem to be that much room for error or fluxuation in temp.. I can't believe that these bikes run that hot..

I will be adding oil temp gauge for shure now. Thanks for the info Honda Mechanic. Now to find a gauge over 300 deg.

I don't know the exact temp of the bike when driving ,it is probably cooler than I listed ..The cylinder & head are air cooled so when moving they would be conderably cooler than the engine oil .
But those are the working temperatures of the thermosensor listed for the Honda test for the sensor ..

My fan comes on at 210f.
I installed a cylinder head temperature gauge on my Foreman 500 and during normal trail riding the gauge gets to 350 degrees,so far the fan hasn't come on yet so the oil temp. has to be cooler than that.
Here is some research I did a while back on the subject.
We were wondering at what temp the fan came on for the oil cooler on a Foreman 450. We saw all the tests in the manual but did our own. All Measurements in deg F.
We used a Snap on Multi meter with a digital temp probe. The ambient air temp was 71 degrees. The oil temp on a cold engine was 71 Deg.
The Oil temp switch measured 98.4 K Ohms.
The engine started and run until the fan came on (about 15 min at a fast Idle) then shut down and immediatly the oil temp and resistance on the switch was measured.
Oil temp was 210 deg, and the resistance at the switch was 1.01 K Ohms.
