My dad gave me his 2007 Forman 500 Rubicon, and he didn't have the owner manual for it, was wondering if anyone knew what type of oil it would take and also how much thanks.

I would use Rotella T6. That's what I run in all my bikes, and that's what my friends run in theirs.

Rotella 15W40 in the white jug,

Rotella T6 in the blue jug.

Valvoline ATV 10W40

Honda GN4.

Look on the back of the bottle in the little circle for "JASO MA". If you don't see that, it will mess up your clutches.

NOT Rotella T5 semi synthetic (it is not wet clutch approved)

you want wet clutch approved oil, can be in many ranges from 0-40 to the basic's, where your at and what temps you run the motor in will fine tune the weight of the oil that would work best for you
I run amsoil 0-40 good in about ALL temps IMO, but its not as cheap as some other oils, so?/

you can also download a FREE service manual, and ion that it should give you all fluid amounts, heads up, when you replace the OIL FILTER, make sure you install new one correct way, so pay attention on how it comes out, and DON"T over tighten the oil drain plug!, many a folks have been known to strip them! never a bad idea to have a NEW crush washer on hand when you remove drain plug too,as there rather cheap!

It takes just over 5 litres of oil and the oil filter is different than foremans. The rubicon oil filter is non directional and can go on either way.

OK sorry then my mistake, never changed oil on a 500 so LOL but good to know!
the 500 foreman has a different filter than the 500 rubicon.. not sure why they did it that way, maybe a better flowing filter to help the auto tranny?
