Need replacement keys

I lost my keys and the only ones available for replacement were the thin car-like keys, which I bought. I want a set like come with the bike -- with the round plastic piece that fits over the ignition. Apparently, dealers don't have these as blanks, just the two that come with each ATV.

I have attached a pic of the replacements that the dealer DID have -- the one labeled 4L.

Is there anyplace online that sells them? Thanx ahead of time!

i might be wrong with Hondas but i thought the plastic part was just a dust cover. which should have a part number to order another one.

i know my ex had a Yamaha Big Bear and she ordered a new dust cover and slid it over the replacement key and wala...new oem key

maybe one of the techs can look it up at their dealership

if not, how many different ignitions could they use for ATV's?
Hmmm -- that is a very simple solution. I hope that is all it takes. Thanx man!
The black part on the key is not removable, I have tried it and no luck.
I bought a blank from honda it was expensive $20 Canadian, had a local locksmith cut if for $5. It was identical to the one that came with the ATV.
Honda Forman replacement key blanks

Apparently The Honda Forman has at least 2 different keys.

Type 1 and type 2

I have a Type 2 with a "C 19" marking on it. Found replacement blanks at a local dealer but you can get blanks at http://www.cheapcycleparts.co also. Just go to a local Locksmith to get them cut.
The dealer said that the depth of the key is important as well as the key pattern. The Keys below are probably too long and don't line up with the lock tumblers. I made a replacement key out of 4R below and it didn't work.

You can find both key blanks here: OEM Parts Honda FOURTRAX FOREMAN ES (TRX500FE) 2006 HEADLIGHT - Cheap Cycle Parts
Ref # 012 for both types. $6.92 each.

If you were lucky enough to lose all your keys then you will need the ignition switch assembly Ref# 011. $30.88

I have two keys from a 2009 foreman that don't have a 2009 foreman to go with. Maybe you can rekey your ignition to fit the keys?

Go to another dealership! I lost 1 of my 2 keys last year. I took my spare in to get a couple copies made and they gave me a choice the 4L picture you have there for $3 (I think) OR the one with the dust cover for $12..... needless to say I bought 2 of the 4L keys you have listed and use that in my machine keeping my spare factory key in the safe If I lose more.
So just call another place and they'll get you what ever you want if you want to pay the extra money for that cover..... The one without the cover doesnt effect the ignition, Ive had my machine in water and muck up over the bars and its still working fine.
