I am working on a 2004 Honda Recon 250ES 2 W/D that will not shift, it started out as an intermittent problem but it will not shift at all now. The gear indicator appears to be flashing a code 3
Thanks for the reply Honda mechanic, unfortunately I do not have a shop manual with the ESP tests.
I have been told that it is the angle sensor but I would like to be sure before I start throwing parts at it.
I have also been told to reset it by turning the ign. switch on, and while holding both shift buttons down turn the ign. off and then back on and it would reset, but i don't want to reset it without knowng what the real problem is.
I had a 05' Es that did the same thing. Traced it back to a blow 30 amp fuse for the shift motor. It's located under the seat next to the battery. You can get a replacement at any auto parts store.
