I would try charging the battery up. It could be the regulator is bad, I think that's what it's called. It's kinda like an alternator on your truck, I think.

When I turn the light on the bike shuts off. Also when I disconnect the battery the bike shuts off. What is causing this. I am planning a road trip with the bikes the day after xmas. Any help or ideas will be appreciated.

Well guys it was the ignition swith and harness. I found it by luck. their is a connection behind the front left wheel that was completley coroded from riding in the water. the plug is suppised to be water proof but the wqy we ride nothing is water proof. Just though I would let you guys know. It is bound to happen to extreme riders. I have learned that it is important to check all connections and clean them out everfyonce in awhile. My bike was bought new in jan. 2006
