I just built a 30 x 30 2story garage on my house. I had all this room over my steps going down in my basement so I built a heavyduty shelf & put my ATV on it. now its out of my way until I need it.[/img]

I built a set of 10 foot rampsout of 2x8 with a 2x6 running down the middle of the bottom & one inch pices of 3/4 inch plywood a foot apart for traction. I plan on making a pull down ramp that I can lower from the celing with a rope. Like a draw bridge.

That space is cool, and scary at the same time. When you build the ramp just be sure you don't have all the weight on the existing shelf. I would make a separate support just for the ramp. Also a cheap 120volt winch would be perfect to raise and lower it with no effort. Check out like Harborfreight tools. Can usually find one for like $60 and a 1500# will be more than enough. Sorry, just my habit. I'm a builder by trade and when I see things like this I always get into it. Nice Job, Let us see when you get the ramp done.

I have a small comealong (spelling) LOL I plan on using. I guess Its going to be put on hold till after the hip gets better.
