My new Gorilla winch

My winch should be at my doorstep when I get home this afternoon. I plan on installing it tonight while everything is still shiny and clean before I leave for Hatfield McCoy trails early tomorrow morning. Where is the best place to mount the contactor/junction block?

I mounted mine under the seat, by the battery. Be sure to put some Dieletic grease on it if your gonna run it deep... Hit the plug too while your at it!
Anybody have a picture?
I installed a Gorilla 3000# with a wireless remote. Not sure which setup you purchased. The directions can be confusing as to how to wire the contacter box. If not a wireless i'm not sure, but on the wireless you want the short wires out of the contacter box to connect to the winch. This will force you to install the contacter box next to the winch, not under the seat. I have taken mine under water several times with no problems. I mounted the togggle switch in the dash of the console opposite of the ignition switch. I took the switch out of the housing that is supplied to mount on the bars. I cut a square hole the size of the switch in the dash, it snapped right in.
I cheapened out and just bought the 2500 waterproof without the wireless remote. Never had one on my Suzuki Ozark because of price but since they are more affordable now with the Gorillas, I figured the 2500 would be more than enough for me. I 've though about mounting the switch on the pod also but that could be an awkward place if your in a goofy situation.
I have a gorilla 3000 with remote. I mounted mine behind the winch on the winch mount. It got so wet it shorted out. I emailed the place I got it and they sent me a whole new wiring set up with a new remote. I used both sets of wires and made a new one so I could mount my box in my tool box on the back of my foreman. Works great!!!
I received my winch Friday and when I went to install it, the end of the motor where you connect the Positive wire hit up against the bar that goes from the bumper to support the right side headlight. I bought the waterproof winch instead of the regular, has anyone else had this problem? Don't know if its a winch plate issue or the winch itself. I'm calling The dealer this morning to see what we can do. It sucked because me and my son went to Hatfield McCoy over the weekend and I got myself stuck when the winch would have been nice to have! Nothing like digging yor quad out then having a little sportsman 90 help pull you out. Famous last words from my son: "Go ahead Dad you can do it! You have 4 wheel drive!"

Hey thats better than when you buddy is riding your other one that is stock, and you hear your other buddy yell "No...." right before the parks your Foreman in water with the exhaust under and turns off the key...
Is it a possiblilty to set the winch back on the mounting plate to avoid the brace. You may have to redrill the mounting holes. Just a suggestion. I have seen this problem mentioned here several times. Sometimes you have to be a little creative to make these after market features work. Good Luck!

Thats where I have mine mounted. I was wondering about if it was waterproof. I see now it's not. I will move it now. Thanks for that good info!

I called this morning and they said that there is 2 different mounts so they are going to send me the other one to see what happens. Like I've read elsewhere, great customer service, friendly, and helpful.
