Mounting an ice chest?

3694 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  mudlord
What has everyone came up with to hook an ice chest to the racks? We have tried the tie down thing but it takes for ever just to open and close it. Not really for ever, but we would like it to be a little easy. You know what I mean. I have seen the triangle ATV boys using tensionors, I think thats what there called. Iam going to Home Depot and look around to see what I can come up with. Any help would be great.

I have a homemade wooden box and I used turnbuckles with a J-hook on one end and the other end is permanently attached to the box with eye-bolts..I think you could do the same thing with an ice chest.Drill through the ice chest and install eye-bolts.
simple bungie cords. just pop them off whenever you open it to get a brew or two

thats what we do here and never have a problem
There a re a few around here that use the turnbuckles and a marine cooler, and it seems to be the ticket. The marine cooler has a really strong latch so it seems to be the obvious choice as far as coolers.
