I have an 05 Rubicon. i changed the oil putting the 5 quarts in it says it takes. it shows full on the dipstick but once i started riding it the red light came on the dash. i took it easy for awhile and it went off. my kid got on it not paying attention to the red light and was riding it and it just died. starter just clicks, pull rope wont budge. what would cause it to lock up after a fresh oil change?

Did you put the spring back in the correct order/sequence? OEM parts? What is the oil level now?

It sounds like you have too much oil. Did you drain both drains and the filter? If it shows full on the stick with out running it you are over filled. Try putting steady pressure on pull rope it will force out enough oil . but don't start it until you drain all three drains then replace oil. It wont show full on the stick until after being run. check operators or service manual for correct oil change and checking oil level
