Add a pipe/filter/EFI tuner to the 680. You might get a couple mph out of it, but its going to get to top speed like a bat out of ****.
are those 3 mods really worth the money? ebay has all 3 for around $500, does that sound right?
Sounds about right. Well worth it.

If your a really brave person Thumper Racing sells a 702cc kit w/ Wiseco piston. Or HL sells a 715cc kit w/ JE piston. There is also camshafts available, head and throttle body porting. You can also put a 6* timing key for a 400EX in it, and get the flywheel lightened. TRD gear reduction will get it to top speed faster, but it will run a little slower with under 27" tires.
i have heard about this 6* key, does it help? will it ping or detonate badly? what about porting the head and throttle body, what areas should you really concentrate on. ive really been thinking about doing these things but i dont want to get to far ahead of myself and really screw something up. i already have hmf pipe and programer, k-n filter, opened up intake snorkel on my 07 rincon. my rig runs very well but those 800 can ams and 750 kaws are hard to catch. any help would be greatly appreciated
I haven't installed it myself, I'm running a CDI and think the two together would be too much timing. But with the 680's you can't get a CDI box, so the 6* key is a very good idea.

First thing I would do is install a 702cc Thumper kit along with a Mudbuster Hotcam. It you want a little more get the throttle body and head ported and polished. If you want a little bit more look into that 6* key and TRD gear.

If you decide to do the TRD and timing key do it at the same time, they installs are basically the same, you have to remove the rear crankcase cover for both.
