I'm looking for known good 2007 Rubicon 500 ECM to borrow/rent. (I realize this is a long shot!)

So, I've got the same non-shifting, D1/D2/ESP code flashing, chasing errors, and replacing parts per the manual that many people seem to have. I'm leaning toward it being the ECM, but I really hate the idea of spending the money on it with not much confidence it will solve the problem. I suspect many of you have bought a non-returnable ECM/ECU only to find out it didn't solve your problem.

I HATE the idea of buying one while not being sure I need it.

So, here I am taking a long shot. If you think you might be willing to help, post up or PM me. I'll share my number with you and we can talk. I feel like we can work something out to make you comfortable with this.

If you loan me one I'll pay all shipping both directions and send you something nice back in the box with it. Also, I'm in Mississippi if you're local. I'll bring it to you and try it at your place.

Yeah, don't feel too bad - I went through a lot of grief with a first year Rubicon. After many hours (days) wasted, it turned out to be a bad Hondamatic unit. Couldn't find any good used ones anywhere. Ended up ordering one in the states since we can visit family down south, right? It was a lot cheaper for a new, oem one until we couldn't cross the border!! The freight, duty, taxes, etc. blew that plan, haha. Hope you get yours sorted out, the electrical system can be challenging to say the least.

I saw in an article that these models are very demanded by people. Also, I tried to search for a good 2007 Rubicon, but they were costly for me. Anyway, I think that this is the perfect ATV for a newbie. My brother learned to ride on it on our trip to Columbia. We got in rent such ATVs from Find Motorbikes for rent in Colombia. They have a lovely service that we enjoyed very much. The bikes were in excellent condition, and they showed us a lot of exciting places to visit with the ATVs. I think that this is a fascinating passion for a man.

They are a **** good quad! Early ones had trans failures, but some lasted just fine...my rancher neighbour got 28,000km on his until it recently died. It was a first year (2001) just like my own which gave up the ghost at 5,000km. Rebuilt it and hope to use it for years to come!!

What is the problem that you are having. The ECU's rarely go bad. Does the machine still drive forward and just does not shift. You can reply here or contact me at [email protected]. I am In Minnesota and have been a help to people all over North America in advising on Rubicon repairs.
It's pretty much the standard Rubicon shift issue. Runs like a top, drives forward, won't shift out of first. In reverse it limps like it's hitting a rev limiter or something.
Gear indicator flashes. New Honda Shift Angle Sensor (that was preloaded during install), new shift motor, cleaned all connectors.
