We have limited slip up front. Basically it is a three wheel drive.

A locker mechanically links the two front axles together, making it impossible for one axle to turn without the other; true four wheel drive.

Or you can use your front break a little and they will both turn.

would a locker make a huge difference in the thick mud?

i heard that it will. here the mud is like peanut butter in some places...once i get in it the wheels just spin in place and i sink and bottom out.

I think the DGL has made a big difference in performance in the mud. But it also has to do with how you ride. IMO it could be the best mod but I haven't gotten the gear reduction, YET!!
