there is nothing out for the forman to override the rev. limited
question

this moght sound dumb but i have a 03 450s and have never hit a rev limiter and i dont baby it !! is their one on mine or just on an es model thanks
My 04, top speed is 48 MPH. He must be piped and jetted.
revs

well mines sock and ive had it at 82 kph ,not sure on what that is in mph but it was revved high and never hit a limiter
Last Sunday, I had mine in 5th and the throttle to the max and I didn't hit a rev limiter. I hit 45MPH.
you will never feel the limited in 5th gear, just in the lower gears. Its there to keep you from damaging or overreving the engine. In 5th gear the bikes gearing just runs out. Mine hits the limiter pretty easy with the gear reduction. My bike also tops out at about 30mph. Its no speed demon. The foremans where built for work, not speed.
yeah my 99 dose 49 and not anything over
I had a 98 450 that would hit 51 stock going downhill, but after putting 27's on it I think that it changes the speedo, because I could go 45 and someone right next to me was going 48. Mods change the gearing and throw off the speedo.
I put my GPS on my Foreman and I watched the mph on the GPS and suprisingly my speedo was dead on.
I've bounced off the rev limiter in 5th gear @ 85 km/h a few times, so it can be done.
450- kph x .6 = mph thus 85 kph x .6 = 51 mph

Rough rule of thumb!
my 450 SE 98 goes to 82km/h to the limiter!! no jetting no pipping but it is in my garage and waiting for mounting!

That gear reduction kinda kills your top speed. Mine with gear reduction 35mph.
With the gear reduction do you actually notice a BIG increase in low end power, or is it minimal?
is that 35 pushin it or just an easy cruse speed cuz all i can easily get up to quick now is about 40 or so unless theres a big area to wind it out
I would say 35 is pushing it to the max, 30 mph on mine is reving the motor pretty high. I could get 35 out of mine, I just dont want to blow the motor.

JP the gear reduction makes a world of difference for low end torque. its a completely different bike.
Are they still making the gear reduction packages for the foreman 450?
35mph is pushing it. The lowend power is fantastic. The thing pulls like a tractor.

Here is me and my Honda tractor at Mud Nationals last year.

Nugents is the company that I got mine from. He no longer has them. but there is a local guy that does custom jobs, but the bike need to be dropped off for him to do the work.
