is a big bor kit worth the money?
i was wondering about geting a bbk how much are they and how much is instalation

It costed me about 500 bucks to do a big bore kit with the cam to my fiances bike.........worth every penny no more bogging down in 2nd gear most of the time..........I also didnt pay any labor so it will be alittle more if you dont do th work...............Dont do the big bore kit without changeing the cam though wount make near as big of a differance

couldnt tell you and exact price you would have to ask them because i am sure that they are going to charge you for however long it says to do it by the book like vehicals not sure if they do it like that though.........You are going to have to pay for the bore kit, cylinder bore, cylinder surfucing and pressing in the sleeve plus the hours it will take them to do it

dont really know what the prices are in your area but here it was 75 bucks to get the bore and everything done so it will probally be around 700 or alittle more since you arent doing the work........Just call the dealer or whoever you are going to have do it and ask them for an exact price they should be able to tell you

my brother put one on his rubi and after riding about 20 miles a portion of the sleeve broke and he had to replace the cylinder because he didn't want to put the bbk back in it. We don't know if it was a defective kit or if it had something to do with the machining. Highlifter told him that he drowned it, but he need if got in the water or mud with it and they wouldn't do anything about it.
not sure if i got the BBK or not, i had a guy charge me $824.71 to take the entire motor out of the frame and take it apart and scrape mud and crap out of the bottom of the motor, and clean it with gas, then put all that back together, got a new oil pump put in along with a new timing chain, then he had to go get a stage 2 piston and they went to put it in and dropped straight through the cylinder, so he went and had to go and order the next bigger piston and rings and had to go and get the cylinder rebored...all in all i think what was on the ticket was like $300 or 350 worth of parts and then however much else was labor, not sure what he charges per hour to work on it or if he just charges per job...although i feel i came out pretty good compared to what the stealership was gonna charge me, and im sure the dealership wouldnt have even cleaned the mud out of the motor either...but anyways that was all on a 500, shouldnt be all that much difference
theres a place by called turner cylces if i pull the motor they will from ground up do a 550 for 2500 they split check oput and replace any thing. mine is smoking bad and when she finaly goes thats what im doing. only thing im worried aboutis a friends had it done and a few months later snaped the tranny out put shaft in the tranny. he runs 28x12.5x12 outlaws like me
