Use a power testing light and see where u r loosing power
Don't know what kind of winch it is but maybe it's getting hot. If there's a thermal snap switch inside it would open at a certain temp and then close once it cools down. Just an thought.
It may just be a bad/dirty connection as well. Is the solenoid clicking when it stops working?
must be a warn ditch it and buy a ramsey worked for me have a 97 fdoreman that had a warn nothing but trouble after every soaking replaced it with a ramsey no trouble my 04 rubi also has a ramsey both work great maybe it's just me because i have heard nothing but good stuff about warn winches but from my experince thay don't like water

intermittent winch problem

Thanks for the leads. It will give me something to start with. It doesn't appear the solenoid kicks in but I'll have to wait until it fails again. Usually after lowering and raising the snowblade is when it appears to fail. It has never failed me any other time.

....... yeah right.

Only problems I've ever had have been with both of my Ramsey winches. A Warn 2000, and two 2500's have worked flawless for me. Warn wrote the book when it comes to winches; maybe I'm just harder on my stuff than other people but in my experience Warn has never let me down. The only other winch I am going to try is the Mile Marker. It has the same drive system as the Warn. I've heard it's slow and kind of noisy but has tons of power.
i researched alot of the winches out there and it seems that the new gorila winch on the market is practically identical to the warn down to the the last details...i have had good luck with mine so far
I pull trees out of my way not quads that roll on there on free will try it and you will ditch the warn trust me
