installing an FST stroker

what's it like installing an FST stroker on a foreman 450. Is this something I could do myself or would I be paying a local shop to install it? if so what's the cost of labor going to be?

It all depends on how mechanically inclined you are. Its not a walk in the park. You have to split the case and press the crank out. Once you get it out you will have to ship it to FST. If you do this be prepared for the bike to sit for a while cause it does take them a little bit to get the crank back to you. I have no idea what a shop would charge for this but I dont think it would be on the cheap side.
you could always buy a used crank off of ebay to send out and have stroked. That way you wont have as much down time. If you pull the motor your self and dissasemble the top end. Then bring it to a bike shop to have the crank installed your probaly looking at 2hours labor [email protected]$60 to $100 an hour labor rate depending on how much the shop charges. Thats just my opinion though

FST has had mine for 4 weeks and they said it would be middle of June before I got it. I'm not realy in a hurry.
I would like to get the engine back in it though.
You can't find much online for 4x4 TRX's with stroker mods. I know they do exist, and have recently sourced a camshaft for a Rancher, but finding one or someone to talk about it or show is like finding a hen's tooth.

I have no idea what the stroker crank gets you for performance, but the cam, bored out top end, and HMF full exhaust is quite a combo on a 420. I might have to check out that stroker crankshaft. If anyone has any experience with them please let me know.
The way I figure it, if you're going to spend 10 thousand dollars plus on a brand new one, might as well buy a slightly used one and build it like no other for less money.
