My friend has a cam in his 04 rubi and he says it runs great, and also way more power than before.
Not quite sure about the CDI though, never heard of anyone doing anything to it.?

does the cam afect the reliability of the bike? mine gets riden pretty hard and i dont want to change anything that that is make it less reliable... that is why i dont want a bbk.... a buddy mine had an 03 rubi and he said he put an aftermarket cdi in it and an after market igniton system and it made a pretty big diff...... but i havent ever heard of anyone else doing that either jsut wondering if anyone had any experiance with it..... thanks.

Cam doesnt affect the reliability of the bike in anyway.
All it really does is change the timing of intake and exhaust so it runs better, and better = more hp.

I actually dont have a cam in my bike.
My friend has the exact 04 rubicon and to install it, you have to tear the engine apart.
I really have no idea how difficult it is to install as i didnt do it myself. Im pretty sure that tearing it apart is quite a big job. But it was definitely worth it!

I do have the cam in my bike. And no it isn't hard to install as long as you have a little mechanic background. They also don't make a upgrade for the Rubicons CDI and you can not get a gear reduction for the Rubi either. That gear reductuion everyone is seeing is for the foreman 500. The rubi tranny work on the hydralic bases not really gears, hints why they shift so smooth. The guy trying to turn the 30's you might want to really look at getting a big bore kit. I myself am turning 28 laws and I have done everything you can do to the Ruby expect the big bore kit and I can barely keep mine going in the real thick stuff. But it will do it.

yes and that is for the foreman 500 not the foreman rubicon 500. I have spoke to them in the past. There is not one made yet, cause if there is I would already have it
