Ok guys I am tryin to figure out how ppl are runnin 28's 29.5's on formeman 500's??? Right now I am runnin 27" swamp witches and it does ok in some mud but in the thicker stuff when you shift in to 2nd gear it falls flat on its face! I was runnin 27' outlaws and I got stuck one day in some thick stuff and the tires wouldnt even turn over in 1st gear and they would move barley in reverse! I am wanting to run 28's on mine but I am afraid its not gunna pull em that well???
with a clutch kit and a jet kit to add to your bike you should be fine to turn 28's but your not going to turn them in 2nd gear it is to high of a gear on the 500's to have any pulling power
I just put 27" outlaws on mine, and I have to go through all the thick stuff in 1st gear. Where before on the stockers I would have to change to second to keep my tires spinning to kinda skim across. I only have to put it in 4wheel drive when Iam really stuck, because just going through any mud trying to turn all four, it will bogg my motor down. Iam starting to think about a clutch kit now. Really not interested in getting an HMF pipe, but I might need to go that route to. I think 27" are perfect though!
I have 27" laws, clutch kit,jet kit, pipe and a snorkel on my 06 Foreman 500 S and it does ok,but where we ride it has not rained alot and there is about 3 to 4" of water and the rest is gumbo mud,we went last weekend and the Foreman could barely turn the tires in this,in 1st gear! didn't get stuck but had a very hard time in it.I think the Foreman is just not geared low enough.
you should be able to turn the laws in the thick stuff with the mods you have listed, especially with the mods you have listed. try a clutch kit, only $50 and not too bad of an install.
It wouldnt turn em at all in the thick stuff! It was factory when I had the laws but with the mods I have now and my half slick swamp witches it still bogs down in some stuff nuthing like the laws but you can still bog it down pretty easy!

i had an hmf with a 165 jet. yesterday i went to a dynojet with a 170 jet and a k&n filter. i could tell a pretty good difference in power after i did this too. even in the thickest stuff i could find around here i had no problems turning tires. sometimes i'd have to put it in 1st but most of time 2nd was no problem in 2wd.
