I have a 2006 Honda foreman 500 that needs a new u joint but don’t know how to replace it. I have been looking at videos but says you need to take of the hole swing arm but to put it back on it needs a certain amount of foot pound for the nuts. Can you just put it on without ?

Unbolt rear diff and axle tube, disconnect brake lines from rear brake assembly, and undo the vent lines. Pull rear axle assembly off of swingarm.

Undo the boot between engine and swingarm, clean out old ujoint. Drive shaft should drop down through swingarm.

Swing the swingarm down until you can slide the new ujoint in the gap between swingarm and engine, then feed driveshaft back up into ujoint.

Reinstall rear axle assembly. Not difficult, just time consuming.

Nobody posts here anymore since vertical scope ruined the board. Everyone moved to atvhonda.com.
