Have any of you built an exhaust snorkel on a stock muffler, if so how did you attach it to the muffler. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions and/or pics on how to. (04 450ES)

Thanks, Brad

for it to seal and not leak it will need to be welded, most exhaust shops will charge around $20 to bend and weld it on for u. Depending on how long of a stack u want. If u do get it welded, it would be wise to dissconnet the battery so the arc from the welder does not fry any of your electrical parts. heres a pic of mine, but its not a stock exhaust.

I did one a while back and just welded a tip on to the stock exhaust about 3" long, then the guy that owned the bike put on his own stack. He probably clamped it But if you want one that is permanent then I would just weld the entire stack to the babck of the muffler. Any competent muffler shop should be able to weld it and bend the stack for you.
Wouldn't that get kinda HOT on the back?
I never sit that far back on mine, and if you are going to run an exhaust snorkel that usually means that you are going to be riding in a lot of water which would cool it off. I don't think I would worry about the heat too much just my .02.

It would be to hot to touch, but as far as emitting heat, Its no more than the sun shining down on u. you wouldn't even notice it, unless u where sitting on top of it.

That looks good Raveer. What kind of exhaust do you have? You
said it was loud. Did you weld that to the factory exhaust to make
it that loud?

Yes I cut the factory muffler off of the mid pipe and welded a tractor muffler on it...Then added the big snorkle...And I would say it is in the top ten of loudest foremans around..
Do yall think that an 1.5" exhaust pipe be big enough for a stock muffler, I have a piece that is already bent so I think I am going to try one on mine.
