Mine lately has been coming on alot less. I blame it on the lack of mud around here! I ride into creeks and that stops the fan everytime! If your coolers are caked with mud I would imagine it would stay on the entire time you rode. I wash mine everytime I get it muddy, and the coolers are the main area of concern when I wash. I just spray them to get it all wet and then wash the outer parts, then return to the coolers, then away then again. I end up washing them about 5-10 times. After you get the big stuff off I found some degreaser helps alot, it'll loosen up the "film" that water just doesn't get.
