Hi there,

i have error code 11 on my display, have checked for continuityfrom the ECM plug to the shift motor on both the orange and blue/green wire which is good. I have checked for continuity across The motor which is good, I took the shift motor off and hooked to battery power and at first it would not rotate but after cleaning the armature and brushes it turns freely. I have checked all fuses and are good as well as replaced the ECM which did not help.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I assume you're aware of the diagnostic info re. code 11 - motor driver circuit. It's possible that the shift motor is faulty. Before replacing it, you should remove it and check the gear that it turns inside the cases (part of the transmission). It should turn freely using your finger, they do get stuck sometimes.
Hi Spock,

I forgot to add that the gear inside dose turn freely. I also am aware of the code/diagnostic process and have been referring directly from the service manual for my specific quad. Thanks for the advice I have a new shift motor on order and will update with the outcome.
Also make sure wires tested for continuity are not grounded to frame. Those DC motors can be messed with to get working but are short lived and should be replaced.

Thank everyone for the responces, it was found that one of the terminals from the shift motor to the ECM was bent and not making contact with the ECM prong.
