I rebuilt my carb much to my surprise I dont get full power. I used fresh gas ,cleaned everything played with the choke but still no power. Any ideas??

maybe time to do a compression test?

NOW when you said cleaned everything
what does that mean?
did you drain and clean the fuel tank?
clean the peacock?
make sure fuel line from tank to arb was clean(best way here is just replace its cheap)
as if NOT, cleaning the carb and having any dirt upstream, could be a waste of time< and have you right back to a dirty carb

NEXT< did you try replacing the spark plug?(I'd replace this after doing a compression test)

how is the air filter looking? if that isn;t clean, well less air in, hard to make full power!

Cleaned the carb bowl the tank is plastic its flowing fine but didnt do an compression test or put in a new spark plug. My filter was off since we had been working on it but its brand new. The power loss is enough for the bike not to be able to drive up the ramp into my pickup.

well the tank being plastic or metal has nothing to do with if its clean inside or not
as you buy and use fuel, dirt can get into a tank, as can many other ways
quality of fuel also, can be a issue, as again, ethanol fuel can spoil FAST, its just not a great fuel if anything sits any amount of time
and you never know what is ina tank at station or how long its been there

so, IMO< I would drain fuel, start with known good fuel
the name of the game is, all about ruling things out
what yr is this ATV?
again, did this power loss suddenly happen or has it been loosing power for a while now?
and have you actually taken the carb apart and cleaned the whole thing, not just the bowel?
and if you did take whole carb apart, HOW did you clean it
as again this matters
just spraying with cabr cleaner doesn't clean a carb!
ethanol over time will and can build up a coating of varnish on inside of carb and its parts, blocking passages and such, and changing how the carb works
so, how one is cleaned matters and determines in if it was cleaned all the way or not, small things make a big difference inside a carb!
they sell carb rebuild kits, that can help things, by replacing some possible coated or bad parts<
and last is this a OEM carb, or an aftermarket carb??
is it an original carb, or did some one at some point change it out?

Its an 03 recon i cleaned all the carb its the orginal carb. I bought the kit to get the thing running again.



I was curious as what the original problem was with the old carburetor? I'm guessing you're saying above that it wasn't running at all. Wondering if it was the same problem, that could mean something didn't get cleaned well during the rebuild.


Sometimes it's better to just spring for a new one, careful, I've heard the aftermarket ones are hit & miss. I would go with Honda or an original on Ebay, $cR3w amazon.
I prefer the older parts and rebuild my own carbs but sometimes a new one is easier.
