i didnt know that you could get a penland for the hondas, mike penland went together with HMF to make the penland series pipes for kawasakis because he used to race a kawasaki but maby they do make it for hondas too. i am pretty sure that on hmf's web site that they list the DB's on all there pipes. if you dont want loud i would go with the ecosystem, i heard that they sound good but are good for hunting.

i dont wanna spend almost $300 on a pipe and and not have better performance, that is the only i was wondering if anybody ran one.
I want to say that I was told by the HMF rep that there is a 3db difference in the Utility with a quiet core and an Ecosystem. If you want somewhat a somewhat quiet pipe and some power gain check out the FMF Powerline.
thanks i think im just gonna get the utilty with a guiet core. does anyone the Db's of a stock exhaust?
lol Its still real loud with the quiet core.
Stock is around 89db.

HMF: EcoSystem is around 96, Utility around 101db, 98db with quiet core. Utility is just plain obnoxious if you ask me.

Big Gun is 94db with 3.5 hp gain.

I've heard some great things about Pro Circuit pipes. Good luck.
is a hmf on a 05 rubicon as loud as a 350 with a flowmaster or as loud as a chainsaw i'm just trying to get an idea of what 101 db is like?
I have an 05 Silverado with the 5.3 in it and have true duals with tips at 45s. My HMF is more intense. It hurts your ears. I will be tired of it after a ride or two and will get rid of it probably.
does the ecosytem have a decent power gain as well? or would i be better off goin with a big gun or FMF? the only reason i ask is because i couldnt find anypower kits that include anythihng but HMF exhaust.
What do you mean when you say power kit? Is it that they send you a jet kit or something as well?
yea it comes with a HMF utility series, jet kit and a K&N for $305. but you can get the quiet core for an extra $20 or the ecosystem for an extra $58. and is 2Db's really that much between the ecosytem and the utility W/quiet core. Is it really that much louder?
Well, the way that the decibel system works, 2db is a big difference. I personally have not heard an Ecosystem in person. I will get you a video of mine with a good vedeo camera to give you an idea about the sound. Buddy was at my house this morning to jet his Brute. He has a Big Gun exhaust on his and my HMF was noticeably louder.
I have A HMF utility with a quiet core . It's not that loud at lower rpms .BUT!!! it does get pretty noisey when you start to get on it .Very good power gains .
waitin for some over time then im gonna buy the utility w/quietcore thanks for all the info.

just bought a eco for 250 on ebay from yamaha of troy comes with pipe jets/ and uni air filter..free shippin
Just put this exact kit on mine today - its not loud at all - its louder than stock but also sounds way better deeper sound. Also you don't get a jet kit with it just he main jet and no instructions on the jet either. power gains also are good.

Are you refering to the ECO?
I put on the utility with quiet core - just my opinion on the noise.
Just be cafefull while mudding. Mud tends to clog the quiet core and makes the bike bog really bad.
