Highlifter fender bracket kit fitment ?

I ordered one from a guy on ebay the day. he said it would fit a trx500 rubicon. I figured the foreman and rubicon were the same so I went ahead and ordered it. Turns out it didn't fit and now I am stuck with the kit anyway. Are the holes to mount this kit to the frame different on the two bikes? I thought they shared the same platform. Also, are the pre 05 model rubicons 500s also. If so I guess I bought that kit and its gonna be for sale soon cause I can't use it.
