High Lifter HP Kit

First off I'd like to say that I enjoy the site. I have had my 500 for about 3 months now and loving it. My question is about the HP Kit that High Lifter is offering for $349.00.

SuperTrapp IDSX High Performance Exhaust (Quiet Series)
Dynojet Jet Kit
K & N High Flow Air Filter
K & N Recharger Filter Care Kit
OuterWears Water Resistant Pre-Filter
NGK High Performance Racing Spark Plug
Air Breather Hose (optional for some models)

Is this a good deal? Do any of you guys have any experience with a SuperTrapp pipe?

Thanks in advance.

its an ok deal, but performance wise, there is better out there. This http://atvoutfitters.net/performance_kits.htm
in my opinion is a better deal, with more performance. Basically the same thing HighLifter is selling, but with an HMF exhaust.
You should be able to buy all that you need for less than that. Most of us that use aftermarket pipes use the HMF Utility. Robb had the Supertrapp and switched to the HMF for more power. It produces the most power overall, But it does produce that most noise as well. To me and most of us we like it though. It is in no way obnoxious.

The pipe, filter and jet kit are the most important things to worry about. The spark plug will not do anything noticable, and the prefilter is just for added saftey. I have no lue what that breather hose is for, and you won't need it on yours. Just look around, HL is never the cheapest, but sometimes they are the only place that has stuff, ecspecially HMFs in stock.
I would go with the HMF... if for no other reason than to annoy your friends that ride behind you

plus when we get together for a ride it sounds like a heard of ******* ****'s Angels riding through the woods
The air breather hose is a second inlet source for you air box .
You have to cut a hole on the oppisite side of you air box to install it.
Hope this helps you out.
Thanks for your help guys. I believe I'm sold on the HMF pipe. After reading reviews from other sites, it's definitely a well liked pipe. The only down fall seems to be the sound without the quite core. I would probably run with the core in, could anyone tell me if this produces a high pitch sound or a low sound.

I shouldn't have a problem installing the filter or pipe. The jets will be a challenge since I've never worked with a jet kit before. I may be asking more "cherry" questions in the near future!

Thanks again!
The quiet core will give the exhaust a slightly deeper tone and a slight decrease in sound .

I said the same thing about the HMF before I ordered it (sound issue) So I ordered the quiet core also, ya know what? I have never even installed it yet to hear what it sounds like. The straight pipe isnt as bad as i thought it would be. I suggest get the pipe and install everything first and then if you dont think you can live with it order the quiet core.
Here's a little hint on how to get $20.00 off from HMF .
Join their forum , then when you make a purchase tell them your
screen name and they will give you $20.00 off your first purchase.
Just thought I'd pass it on to everyone.

A lot of people do that to get a "free" quiet core.
My parts are ordered! HMF Utility, Dyno Jet Kit, and K&N filter. I know I can handle the pipe and filter, but the jet kit I'm not sure about. Should I let the stealership put it on or are the directions simple enough for me to do it myself?
Thanks flipstick!

I would read this thread it should give you some decent insight on what you are getting into. I learned the hard way

You can take it to a local motorcycle shop as well, they may be cheaper. It looks harder than it is, I just takes patience to get it dialed in right.
Be careful with the dyno jet jets. They are garbage and come in undersize from what they should be.
