ok i bought my foreman 500 back in october 05 and before i made the first payment on it i broke the drive shaft in it....or whatever its called where the drive shaft connects to the motor....anyway, honda fixed it under warranty....i was running 26" mudlites then and last week i went and got 27" mudlites and new rims.....about 2 hours after riding on the new tires.....pop, there went the drive shaft again... so its in the shop again and they are saying that honda doesn't like to warranty the same thing twice....anyone had any problems with this issue...and warrantys on the same thing twice.....a buddy told me if they fix it I should give it **** and try to get it to break again and i could get a new 4 wheeler under the lemon law......what do yall think?

I think intentionally causing further problems to the machine by riding excessively hard is wrong. Claiming lemon law subsequently is lying and might/should be against the law. That gives problems to the next guy that might actually have a lemon.

That said, prepared to have the extended warranty suggested to you. I have not heard of this type of thing happening to a Honda, especially twice.
Dano has gone through 6, I have broke one, I think that that is a very weak point on the new 500's, there is no reason for it to break as easy as it does. I think that if they want to keep there good name in quality up they have some things to address on the 500's. I know that it is wrong to try and intentionally fool the dealership, but i know especially around here the shops are impossible to deal with, and you have to do what it takes to get your machined fixed especially if you have the warranty.
Are youall talkin about the front or rear shaft, if its the rear is it the ujoint that youall are breakin.
What size tires are you guys running? HUGE? Could this be the reason it's breaking?
You should start running the ujoint out of a 450 foreman on the 500's thats what dano is doing now and he isnt breaking them anymore
I've got an 06, but I run 28" outlaws and havent had the first sign of trouble
Maybe they have fixed the problem for the 06's but the 05's have seemed to break very often we have been out many of trips that end up in only being able to have front wheel drive
Yea i still havent had any probs with my rearend yet and i ride it pretty hard. But as soon as i do break one im gonna look into getin either a 450 joint or gettin the 500 joint flame hardened and maybe eavin the shafts to. Heck maybe ill just send them off to high angle driveline and see what they can come up with. If enougph ppl show interest they would prob make an aftermarket upgrade.
SASQUATCH that sounds like a good idea. you should contact High Angle Driveline in your spare time offshore!!!

Who has spare time? From the time we wake up till the time we go to sleep we work and i mean hard!
they said its the final output shaft on the rear....they also said honda has been having some problems with it so they sent them a beefier output shaft and hopefully it won't break again....i'm only runnin 27" mudlites on it so i don't understand what the deal is.....they are at least going to cover it under my extended warranty again. whew!! I should get it back tomorrow....the shop here is great they've only had it in there about a week and a half now....first time it was only a week.
I wish ours was that good, it is like pulling teeth to get them to do anything.

Thats interesting.
Hmm i wonder what part is breakin on the shaft, the ears, the shaft it self, or the splines? Where is the slip yoke on the rear driveline anyways, built into the shaft or into the diff?
Dano's also running thoes Vampire EDL's...Bad A$$ tires and he has a Bad A$$ bike, but when you are pulling Toyota's out of the mud...Well... He has told me that if he would stop that...Well...Yea
The edl's that dano has are on the front i have the same set up........ that has no effect on the rear u-joint breaking
