help with snow plow
first of all i am new to the sight. I an need of some help i am looking for a good strong snow plow for my 06 foreman 500 "thank you"

Welcome to the site....lots of good people here.I don't own an ATV plow anymore,I used to have a Cycle Country 48" plow.I had it 3 winters and it never broke.I didn't like the mounting brackets though,hung too low,and it was a PITA taking it off every spring.I have heard good things about the WARN ATV snowplows,you might want to take a look at those. I have the Honda/Moose 60" Plow (same as Cycle Country) and it has proven to be pretty tough so far. I have mainly used it for grading and spreading gravel which is pretty hard on it and it has performed flawlessly. The first day I mounted it I spread over 18 tons of gravel with it and it took everything I threw at it.
FYI, The latest Plow mounts have smaller mounting tabs as compared to earlier versions so clearance is not as bad of an issue as older mounts. I leave my plow mount on all the time and have never had a problem. It actually makes for a pretty tough skid plate since it is made of thick steel.
The only thing I didn't like about it is the use of U bolts to mount the plate. This is way too common in the ATV world and I hate those things! Since the U-bolts slip over the top of the frame tube (and can crush the frame tube if tightened too tight) pointing downward, the legs of the u bolt stuck down pretty far and could catch on stuff. I tossed those in the trash and used the threaded half of a split ring collar with bolts going up from the bottom. This gave me a wider footpint on the frame to reduce the possibilty of frame damage and left a cleaner under belly since only the bolt heads are exposed.
Looking forward to LOTS of snow this winter

about how high does the cycle country lift ?
I'd guess about a foot.

Thats the link he gave..... I am guessing those are the ones he is using. They are a quality product, quality is not cheap. But does save from damage to the tubing your are attaching to.

The aluminum ones shown in the last pic are part number 6436K73 $5.17 each.can i get a link to the ones your are useing cuz everyone i looked at on that sight was like $10 or more a peice
The Zinc Plated Steel ones I used on the rear of the frame for the plow mount were part # 2380K31 , $9.58 each. Black Oxide Version is $5.44 each, and the stainless 316 version is $37.83 each ZING!!!

I am using a Warn plow for the last 4 to 5 years and have had no problems at all. Very tough and sturdy. I did add a tube to the top filled with sand to add some weight..... I also do some dirt work with mine and digs in well.
how about the eagle plow does any one have any info on this modle ?

I just put and Eagle plow on mine. It is the same as the Tusk. Gander Mountain had all the parts on sale so I pieced it together and bought a Gorilla Winch to raise it. Now I am just waiting for snow!!! Seems very well made and was simple to install. I got the 60" country style in Yellow. I will post again once I have something to do with it besides look at it. My advice it to get it soon. Last year they ran out of Foreman adapter plates. Although they did not say it, but I tried ordering from several places and never recieved it. This year I bought it in September.
