You should have a primer on the right side of the carburetor.My '06 will crank a long time if left sitting for a long time.I always use the primer now,then it will fire right up.
Hard Starting
I have an 04 that stays at my cabin. Aftrer sitting for awhile its a really hard to start. All my other honda's start with no problem. I was thinking it had something to do with that eletric throtel over-ride choke thing, any suggestions ??? Once I start it for the weekend I have no problems starting it.

could thier be water in your gas? how long has the gas been sitting? was the tank full or half empty?

My experience with this is the idle set knob under the seat, try giving it a turn.
