pull the 4x4 selector switch from the diff and make sure the gear splines are not rounded off or chipped where they mesh together. with it out also check the voltage to the selector and the travel of it to make sure it is ingauging all the way.

2003 450 when in mudholes and spinning tires pretty good it kicks itself out of 4 wheel drive. have to switch back to 2 wheel kill bike start back then put in 4 wheel and it does fine for awhile.
