I just installed the DGL locker and all I did was use the additive and the honda gear oil 80 90 weight
so i am reading into it to much when it sais hi performance transmission oil? even thow there is no clutches or any thing in the diffs but gears? it will still work.

Yea their are some sort of clutches in the stock front diff. Just use the 80 90 weight you will be alright
I'm using synthetic 80W-90 in both diffs.
The bike has a cam follower type front differential ..
If you use synthetic in front diff there is no need for additives with the DGL. Synthetic is the only way to go in my opinion, I use Amsoil.

well it has been brought to my attention that this hp trans oil is for trannys on 450r, 250rs and such on. it has hypoid gears in it which is harder on oils, and the stuff i should have gotten was hypoid 80w/90w. thanks for your help thow guys, i plan on running synthetic after i get my 20 hrs on, i am now changing it(5 hrs), to get all the shavings out, then after 20,

Are you talking engine/tranny oil. If so don't use synthetic until you hit at least 200miles. You can use synthetic in diffs at any time.
why is it that i woudl want to wait? i have always used non-synthetic, i have never been sold on it. but am now oppen to the idea sence this is brand new and hasnt had regular in it for to long

There was an article I read that showed a piston from a motor that ran synthetic right away and one piston that ran synthetic after 200 mi. There was a huge difference. I guess the rings need time to seat.
icic, im gunna look around for this article, and others, like i said, i'm not sold on it, i like old school, its proven, i've never had an eng failer on non-synth.
so many people swear by it, i might have to give up my old ways and try it out.

I switched to synthetic engine oil at the first oil change.(10 hours)I've always done that and never had a problem.I've heard that engines need to break-in first before switching to synthetics but Corvettes and Vipers come from the factory with synthetic oil in them.
