Having left fuel in the tank while in storage for 10 yrs. ( I know my bad), but stuff happens.
When I took all apart to replace mucked up fuel system parts, I find the screen on the tank filter has disintegrated.
Anyone else seen this? Seems to be some kind of plastic instead of metal. Had the brown molasses like gum and varnish all the way to fuel pump enclosure. A poor design with no drain valve at bottom of this enclosed fuel pump case. I plan on installing a drain, as this is lowest point of system. BTW , denatured alcohol removes the "molasses" quickly. Had to replace; fuel guage, tank filter, fuel pump, and fuel lines. And, rinse out tank with denatured alcohol. Don't remember last fill up, could have been Colorado fuel, I live in California and currently going to use new Techron Powersports &Small Engine treatment and stabilizer.
