I am trying to take off the engine with NO LUCK! I have read all of the posts on how to remove it but I cannot get the freakin front driveshaft out. I have it unbolted from the frame and tried pulling it foreward, rotating up, rotating down, engine lifted, etc... Right now I have the top end off, engine unbolted, jacked up over the frame mounts and slid back at least 1'' and the axle will not come out of the front housing. Please help me with this before I get the torch out!!!!!!!!

The coupler on the motor side is spring loaded and you should be able to push it forward enough to slide it off of the output shaft.

Old post but....
Does it mean that the coupler (no 7) on the motor side should just slide off from the shaft coming out of the transmission?
