Do any of yall know if you can purchase just one side of the side gears for the differential I busted the **** out of one of them and I don't want to pay $500 for the whole differential.

Does the DGL replace these pieces in the diff. if so it is the same cost as buying the original pieces. I will post some pics later.

Isn't that the end of the axle..?..the inside CV joint..? .. That doesn't come with front lockers..

I do see (I believe) a cam from inside the front diff. .. are the 18 cam followers still good..?.. there are 9 (A) cams & 9 (
cams ..

You need to post a better picture of your parts..

I already have a new inboard joint for the axle but I have to replace one of the cams in the diff, the splined parts of it is what is in pieces, all of the cam followers are still good. But from what I have seen online you can only get it all together for $460 or something like that. If I am not able to get just the one gear then I am going to go with a DGL.

And yeah railroader I was in a nasty mud hole trying to work my way out and a rope that someone threw in the hole became wound up in the tire and popped the axle, sure would have been nice if just a cv would have broke but noooooo.

Yeah I never thought of asking someone that put in a DGL, but I think I am going to go with a DGL close to the the same money and none of the hassle of finding a used one. Plus I already have the wife convinced that it is the best way to go kind of like when I put lockers front and rear in my jeep.

Does anyone know of a machine shop that they can recomend to do the machining, or do you think that napa could do the job alright?

There is a ring on the inside of the ring gear that has to be machined flush. No big deal should be hard for any competent machine shop.

Glad to hear you won't be down long. Be careful with your thumb
when you get in a bind. You might pop an axle.
