FRONT BRAKE INTERCHANGE HELP!!!

1699 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by MeanGreen
I bought a 99 Foreman about a year ago and it had some problems (smoked alot) but i replaced the engine with a fresh one. Ever since i got it the front brakes barely worked but i really didnt care. Well i took my foreman to california and tore a boot on the front right cv joint so when i got home i took the brakes a part (very tough to get the drum off with all of the rust) and only one cylinder on the whole front end was working. At this time i do not have the money to buy the disk brake conversion, but i was wondering if the brakes off of a 2004 Rubicon 500 would work on my 99 Foreman 450? And where is the best place to get a a right front cv boot? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Try this place, you should be able to figure out if the brakes on the Rbui will work for your Foreman. http://www.hondapartsworld.com/
Try hondapartsworld for your cv boot, they have almost all oem parts you need. As far as interchanging the brakes, i'm not sure if they would work or not. Maybe someone else will have more insight on this.
Mean Green if your interested, I have a complete set of front brake assem's. off an 01 foreman in near new condition. These have never seen mud. It consist of the backing plate, wheel cylinders, brake shoes and drum cover with studs. Ready to bolt on and all you have to do is bleed the brakes and your set to go. I can also get pix's if needed. Looking to get $80 shipped for the set.
Thanks for all the help. It helped alot. And Dirty4men i might get back to you on those brakes. Thanks alot! That will save me alot of time.
