I have used the slime and it works great. Tire centers don't like seeing slime when they break one down to change, trust me I know from experience!
It's also good to keep some fix-a-flat with you. If you happen to get a flat and it comes off the bead of the rim a can of fix-a-flat has enough pressure to pop it back on. Done this many times.
