I have a flat rear tire and was wondering if fix a flat is ok to use in ATV tires. Dont see a hole or anything where the air is getting out. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

I think this gorilla snot looking stuff called (Slime) is better! You should be able to find it at your local wal-mart.
i also use the slime or "gorilla snot looking stuff" in my tires. fix a flat is ok but i rather use thr slime, it works better.

I have used the slime and it works great. Tire centers don't like seeing slime when they break one down to change, trust me I know from experience!

It's also good to keep some fix-a-flat with you. If you happen to get a flat and it comes off the bead of the rim a can of fix-a-flat has enough pressure to pop it back on. Done this many times.
I know there are pros and cons to most things, but I don't like using slime or fix a flat for several reasons.

1) Even with aluminum rims, it will corrode the inside of the rims over time.
2) If you live where it gets cold in the winter, slime will freeze in a puddle in the tire and vibrate your fillings loose.
3) As mentioned before, your tire guy will never change another ATV tire for you after he and his tools are covered in snot. It makes a nasty mess.

You can buy a 30 pack of plugs for what a small bottle of slime costs. You can also buy an elcheapo foot pump for the trail to take with you.

The easiest way to find the leak is to overinflate your tire, and then take a spray bottle full of soapy water, or you can even use Windex - then spray the tire until you see a steady stream of bubbles coming from the tire. Now you found the leak. Plug it, set the correct pressure, and go ride.

Yep, a wash tub works great, too. I normally repair mine while they are still on the bike, so that's why I use a spray bottle. I slide a jack under the bike so I can rotate the tire slowly while squirtin' away! Ha Ha!

Fix a flat and Slime are good products, but I think they are more for when it's an emergency fix.

If you use them any other time that in an emergency situation, you are temporarily fixing one problem while creating another problem down the road when you change the tire out.
Be careful if you are carrying slime with you on the trails. That stuff sucks when it explodes and leaks inside your trail bag. Has anybody else come up with a way for that not to happen, other than putting it inside a ziplock bag?
that is one thing we dont carry. fix a flat or slime. we use a 12v pump. we carried co2 at one time. but we have put a tire that had come off the rim back on no problem by putting a ratchet strap around the tire and using the 12v.
I carry a 12v air pump with us too...
i wont use slime have u seen what it does to the inside of a tire. seen some with huge chunks missing
Hey man I work at a tire shop and Im here to tell ya fix a flat sucks. I hate that stuff. It ruins a rim. Just run the air pressure up to about 20PSI and spray soapy water all around your tire. If its the valve stem...replace it. If its your bead...By some bead sealer at walmart. And If you have a hole in your tire....Patch it or plug it. I prefer to patch it. First start of with some type of sander or deburrer and get the inside of the tire smooth then take somthing and clean the debris. Then take some of that tire glue and put on then a patch. Make sure and take the roller and roll all the air spots out of the patch. When you get done with that take and put bead sealer over the patch. The patch will last the tires lifetime....GUARANTEED!!!
My bead broke on my vampires when putting them on and i shot two bottles of that green slime in it and its been holding. I put it in about 3 weeks ago and i went to a mud bog this weekend and no air has leaked.
i bought a new tire anyway i just used that stuff to get me by but its seeming to work real well.
I had two flat tires on my foreman and I aired them up with an electric pump and air was leaking around the rim. So wat I done is I went to a tire place close to my house and bought some grasshoper sealent and it sealed up my valve before I even got air in the tire. Then I had to go get another valve put back in the tire. So now I use simple Fix a flat from wal-mart..haha. Now my tires never leak! I would say fix a flat is your best bet.
fix a flat never workd for me and it probably wont work for your junk . you got ripped off when you bought those gators from me
Bud.. I don't know who you think your talkin to. That little recon you got is just a little crap two wheel drive and besides why would you even try to waste time to put 27" tires on that thing..
idk y you put those tires oo your foreman all you do when im ridin with u is putt around like a scared lost puppy. listen you cant get through life crying u gotta face your fears
