We have a 2002 Honda Foreman Es and just replaced the angle sensor and cannot find a downloadable service manual to get the reset procedure for the thing, we've tried different ones we found on the internet but none of them seem to work, is there somebody out there that can e-mail us service manual procedure?

Thanks

It re-sets when you cycle the key switch on & off ... Did you count the flashes on the gear position indicator ..?
G
It flashes 5 times which should indicate that the angle sensor is bad but that's what we just replaced and we've followed every procedure we found to try and reset it and we can't get anyone of them to work.

Thanks
Code #5 is "ECU motor driver circuit" code ... There are a few ECU tests .. Do you have a shop manual to do the tests on the ECU ..?
whould it b the same for a 500 foreman.
No the tests are different .. Post or PM your email address and I will email you the TRX450 section ..

I'M ALSO HAVING PROBLEMS, I ONLY HAVE 1, 5, & R. I WENT THROUGH ALL THE TEST PROCEDURES IN THE SHOP MANUEL, BUT NO LUCK.
ANY IDEA'S ??
I have a 2008 TRX500FE Foreman with some mods and having problems with the electric shift, 3 blinks (angle sensor) I only have 2100 miles on it, Love the foreman but not the problems. My shifter works fine until I get past half throttle then it starts flashing in whatever gear I am in and I cannot shift unless I stop turn it off and back on and rock it back and forth then I can down shift again, it worked fine untill I got 2000 miles on it then I started having trouble with it. Anyone have any ideas?

welcome to the forum !!!
have you adjusted the clutch in awile ?
have you cleaned and put dielectric greese in the conection yet ?
is the battery conections tight and battery fully charged ?
I have just now removed the angle sensor, the outside was dirty the connections are not corroded and there are no cracks or anything, Do I grease it where it goes into the motor also or just the plug in? I have not adjusted the clutch yet, I wanted to gut the code says angle sensor so I have started there. I really appreciate the help, Thank you
the dielectric greese goes in the connection
and you should have adjusted the cluch first because if the adjustment screw is frozen in the front cover then you could have cleaned the sensor when you pull the front cover
Cleaned the angle sensor and re-installed it and it shifts like new, believe me the plastic is the worse part of this job, now since I am feeling pretty confident I am taking apart the left side and pulling the carb so I can see what size the main jet is I am not looking forward to the air cleaner housing with the 2 inch snorkel I have a new HMF basic jetting kit and feel like I will try the 170 main jet depending what is in it, Surely it was rejetted when they put the after market exhaust and custom snorkel but you never can tell so the only way to know for sure is to take the thing apart and look! I have a slight hesitation low in the throttle but top end seems fine, My question is the main jet the only one that needs changed, Idle is a little sluggish to but the main jet control's from half throttle to full throttle so a little confused I may wait for a reply before I pull the carb, it is so nice to be able to down shift again my confidence is restored in Honda's Electric shift program. I am a little hesitant to adjusting my clutch it seems strong, does this need adjusted more on an es model because my father inlaw has a 2000 450s and has never adjusted the clutch. thanks

Would you please email to me, having same problem; [email protected]
How many times do you have to cycle the key to reset on a 450es Honda Foreman 2002 ? Thank you.
I recently purchased a 2002 foreman 450 and have been slowly addressing the problems it has. Almost done, however the electric shift isn't working properly. The guy I bought the bike from installed a 'new electric shift unit the day I purchased it and it's never been right.

When the bike is cold it shifts up okay, however it won't shift down, until you come to a complete stop. I can hear something trying to engage (like a clicking) but it won't downshift. Once the bike has been ridden for a while (10 minutes or so) it seems to shift down okay. What should I look at first? TIA.
