Hello everyone this is my first post I’m a heavy equipment mechanic that has never worked on any Honda in my life. I picked up a Honda foreman 450 ES for 300 bucks that would turn over but not run. Finally chased it down to a blown ignition fuse, replaced it and as soon as you turn the key on, it blew the fuse over and over. After about 6 hours of unplugging connections and looking for a grounded harness I unplugged the small plug from the ECU turned the key on and boom no blown fuse. Cranked it while unplugged and it started right up electric shift didn’t work but manual shift worked great. If you plug the small connector in while it’s running it instantly blows the IGN fuse and cuts the bike off. Any ideas I’d rather not just start throwing parts like the ECU and shifter assembly at it thanks. Also does anyone know what exactly what that plug controls?
