I have a 2004 foreman 450 S, And my problem is that it doesnt want to shift out of first gear for the couple of minutes. After i run up the RPMs a few times it does fine. Does my clutch need adjusted or what?
if im correct i think there was a post on this a while back and they said when you first start up your bike the oil has to get warm in order for it to shift properly. Someone will chime in if im wrong
i dont know if this will apply to you or not but i had troulble shifting my bike before and it was the splines on the shift shaft had stripped if you pull up and down on your shifter a little is it tight to the shaft or dose it move around on it
My 2003 Rancher did that and my 2006 Foreman does it too.Sometimes I had to reach down with my hand and pull the shifter.Since I switched to AMSOIL synthetic ATV oil it shifts much better. My dealer told me that they all do it.When the bike sits for a while the oil runs out of the clutch discs and they stick together causing them not to disengage.
