I contacted my dealer today to ask some questions about my warranty in respect to buying larger tires or possibly installing a snorkel. As I suspected, the snorkel will void my warranty according to Honda. What I was surprised to learn is Honda's stance regarding water. In speaking to the Honda Tech, I was told that Honda will NOT warranty the service of your vehicle if there is moisture in your 'final drive'? Someone will have to explain to me what they mean by that....does that mean your diffs and axle housings?

To be honest, I'm a little bothered by Honda's response. I'm not one that looks for water on the trails but it's something that can't be avoided sometimes. In my opinion, Honda misrepresented this vehicle as their warranty does not match their marketing. I can already tell that I'm not going to enjoy working with this dealership when servicing my vehicle.

Thoughts? Comments?

Thanks Joey,

I'll be sure to 'prep' my bike before any service visit. I thought warranty work would be different with an ATV...guess not. Makin' me think I might be better off canceling the extended warranty and having the money applied to my payoff for the bike. Hmmm?

I've done zero modifications to my bike. I plan on purchasing tires that won't require a lift. I've considered snorkling my bike but will refrain if it results in Honda voiding my warranty. I was just surprised to hear that they would void my warranty for water in my diffs. I mean, am I the only guy that rides through water over their tires on every ride? How can Honda expect you to totally avoid water on an ATV? I won't ever take my bike swimming but, water is inevitable.
