no there wouldnt have to be a end cap on it but, take your bike to a muffler shop and tell them what you want done. most of the time they can make it so the pipe will fit snug into the end of the muffler. thats what i did and other people that i have told have done in and it has worked good. there might be a small leak around where the pipe goes into the muffler but nothing bad.

thats for the mudslinger pipe. not the IDS2

I took it to a local muffler shop and they made me a snorkel for it. I made the bracket that holds it solid to the rear rack from an exhaust hanger and a bar clamp. It is very solid and does not move. I painted it with high temperature header paint. It is quit a bit louder than the Supertrapp IDS2 by it self. It did have a little bit of a leak where it went into the muffler but I put some muffler mender putty around it and it leaks no more. I am very pleased with the results.
